This was my second boudoir shoot. Initially I did it as an out of the box gift for my husband. After my first shoot, it was amazing to see myself in that light. It turned it to a gift for myself! After a few years passed I decided I wanted to do another shoot. It was so fun and Jolene does such amazing work. Seeing myself in my images and feeling so great about them really helps with confidence! It’s so hard to take good photos ourselves, so it is so worth
to have professional ones done.
What is your age? 33
What do you do for a living? Stay at home mom.
Did you have any fears going into your session?
First time around I was afraid I would be awkward. Jolene quickly made me forget that feeling. Second time around, I was more afraid I didn’t pick the right outfits, but it all worked out great!
How was the actual session different from what you expected?
It was super laid back and fun. Never feeling awkward.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? All of it, but the image reveal is always at the top of my list!
How has the response been to your images?
Love!!!
What is your advice for women interested in a boudoir experience?
Don’t feel you need crazy amount of makeup. My first shoot I had really dark smokey eyes and makeup… while I loved my images, the ones with me looking at the camera I barely looked like myself as I never wore that much makeup… Second time around, I asked for a more natural look, and I LOVED it!
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of your experience?
My husband always tells me how beautiful I am but sometimes it’s hard to see what he does in a mirror, these images allow me to see myself in a different way that’s not possible without this photo shoot!

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
