My life sure has changed drastically in the last week. COVID-19 has hit and all of our lives have been completely up-ended. Life as we know it has changed. School is closed, most businesses are closed. It feels sometimes like life is closed. We can’t hug anymore!
I am called to this work because of how it makes women feel and now that I an unable to do what it is I do best, I decided it was time to get creative. After a few days of trying to make sense of it all I decided that I needed to do something to spread some joy and happiness. Social distancing has made it impossible to shoot in the studio so I took my camera on the road for a little personal project.
It felt good to connect again. Even with a patio door or bedroom window between us. It felt good to get out of the house. Because, let’s face it, if my kids need one more snack I’m going to loose it. It felt great to spread a little bit of self love around. There is just something about being photographed. You must trust the person taking your image. It’s exhilarating and a little bit scary. Something we’re all getting used to, right? There’s nothing like “The Rona” to make having your picture taken in your undies seem like a walk in the park. Am I right?
The bottom line is this. We are all in this together. Whatever your talent is, I implore you to share it right now. Let’s not worry about the things we have no control over. What we can control is how we react to this situation. I choose to react with love rather than fear.
Enjoy the photos, stay well and remember…
Love you all! – Jolene

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
