What is your age? 29
What do you do for a living? Administrative Secretary
What made you decide to book a boudoir session? Post baby doubt had taken over. After several miscarriages and two children I didn’t feel good about my body. I was depressed and had lost some of my confidence.
Did you have any fears about your boudoir session? I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get my cleavage to appear.
How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)? I was so happy I did it in my own home. I was very comfortable in my own house, I literally could walk around naked every day, so having the photographer enter my home and my most intimate places really felt much more comfortable than I ever imagined. It was just like I was being myself, goofing around half naked.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (hair and makeup, the shoot, image reveal, giving the images etc…) I loved that Jolene captured my personality in the photos. She really incorporated some important props in my photo without taking away from the focus (me). There were parts of myself also that I had never seen in such great lighting and with such poise. She really captured the beauty in me.
How has the response been to your images? They were completely uplifting. It feels so great to celebrate the journey my body has been on.
What is your advice for women interested in such a session? When I was decorating my room I cleared out absolutely everything. I didn’t go buy new deco but looked around the house for three or four of my favorite pieces and plants and scattered them in corners of the room. Do NOT overthink your surroundings, because in the big picture your deco means NOTHING. If you do you will only stress yourself out for nothing. Jolene can make you look like your a queen no matter what you have in your space.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of the session?Absolutely! Being seen again as a sexy vixen instead of the person that cooks the morning bacon is just what I needed. We get so wrapped up in our responsibilities we sometimes forget to celebrate ourselves for a moment.

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
