What is your age? 38
What do you do for a living? Information Technology
What made you decide to book a boudoir shoot?
I did this for myself, there has been a lot of changes in my life over the past 4 years. Over the last year I have made huge changes, lost weight, started exercising, running and I realized I need me time….not time being mom, wife, daughter, friend, employee. I needed to see the personal beauty that I had, somewhere I had lost that along the way.
Did you have any fears going into your session?
OMG yes…. I didn’t think I could look as good as the other women, get the right outfits or even put my self out there. But I kept telling myself…you can do this and I should have no fear.
How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?
So not knowing what to expect….well it was an experience that I can’t explain. Joleen made me feel so comfortable and that is something that has always been hard for me. I was able to let loose have fun and be me. We also had great conversation during the session.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (hair and makeup, the shoot, image reveal, giving the images etc..)
I would have to say the slide show was my favorite…. the music and images….I was totally blown away that it was me. I had tears roll down my face and then realized it was me. It was so empowering.
How has the response been to your images? What is your advice for women interested in a boudoir experience?
My advice would be DO IT!!! You don’t have to have the perfect body, weight, skin, hair to do this or have to do it for anyone but yourself. You won’t regret it at all and it will give you a new perspective on yourself.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of your experience?
I would say yes! It made feel beautiful inside and out. I will say on bad days I will look at theses images and remind myself –
‘Cause girl you’re perfect
You’re always worth it
And you deserve it
The way you work it
‘Cause girl you earned it

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
