What is your age? 40
What do you do for a living? Stenographer/court reporter
What made you decide to book a boudoir shoot?
I have seen Jolene’s work and absolutely loved it. I’ve spent the last 2.5 years getting healthy inside and out and wanted to treat myself and document what being 40 and healthy looked like. 🙂
Did you have any fears going into your session?
No! Jolene has been so friendly and wonderful beforehand. It felt like I already knew her even though we didn’t meet until the day of.
How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?
It was easier than I expected in that I did not feel exposed or uncomfortable being naked at all. At one point I was full nude walking around and she made sure I was fully okay with it.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (hair and makeup, the shoot, image reveal, giving the images etc..)
Seeing my images for the first time with the music playing at Jolene’s home was riveting. I couldn’t, and still can’t, believe that is me!!!
How has the response been to your images?
I’ve shown them to my boyfriend and my lifelong best friend, and they are both blown away. I will never use another photographer for a boudoir shoot. Ever.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of your experience?
I can’t stop looking at my pictures. I feel more confident and want to do another shoot already!!!!
What is your advice for women interested in a boudoir experience?
DO IT. Even if your body isn’t “perfect” or you worry about being uncomfortable, Jolene is AMAZING. She couldn’t stop telling me how gorgeous I was, made sure my poses were flattering, and just wanted me happy and enjoying myself the entire time. It was like hanging out with a good friend.

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
