If you’ve ever shot with me, you’ll likely recognize this gorgeous woman. Liz is one of the INCREDIBLE makeup artists I work with. She owns and operates Lovely Elegance Hair and Makeup She travels all over southern WI doing hair and makeup for weddings, photoshoots and even commercial jobs. Hit her up for all your makeup needs. Her work is timeless and beautiful!!
Here’s what she had to say about her boudoir session experience!
What is your age? 33
What do you do for a living? Hair and makeup business owner.
What made you decide to book a boudoir shoot? To finally experience the full shoot and emotions our clients do. And also to gain confidence in myself.
Did you have any fears going into your session? Of course! Who doesn’t?
How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)? I felt way more comfortable that I thought I would, even after working with Jolene forever, it’s nerve wracking to pose, let alone pose in very little clothing.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (hair and makeup, the shoot, image reveal, giving the images etc..) The shoot was so much fun! Hair and makeup was great too 😉 just kidding.
How has the response been to your images? I have looked through them like 10 times already since I got them yesterday.
What is your advice for women interested in a boudoir experience? Do it. It’s not as scary as it seems. You will thank yourself later for doing it!
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of your experience? Definitely! As a plus size woman I have been working on my confidence and these photos help a ton!

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle. It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
