Self Portrait Session – Madison Boudoir Photographer

April 13, 2020

Here we are.  April 13th, 2020.  Covid-19 has put a complete stop to all non-essential businesses and it’s been a month since I’ve been able to photograph clients,  Any artist will tell you, creating is essential to us!  What’s an artist to do?  Take self portraits of course!  Self portraits are hard but definitely something I want to continue to do.  I am very much guilty of not existing in pictures.  Can you relate?

If I am being completely honest, I’ve actually been enjoying the down time with my kids although I very much wish it was under different circumstances. As someone with workaholic tendencies this quarantine has been a forced break and for some of us, we need to be forced to slow down.  The hardest part of all of this for me is the unknown.  I am hoping to be back to work in May but who knows?  If you would have told me that in 2020 a worldwide pandemic would force me to close my doors and stay home for weeks on end I would have told you “Girl, you crazy!”

For now, my plan is to keep positive, only worry about the things I can control and do my best to keep aware of what this situation is trying to teach me.  A friend once taught me that there is always a lesson.  You just need to keep your eyes peeled for it.

Please stay well, lovelies!
