Do you want to know the best part about shooting Bridal Boudoir? It’s the moment your client realizes that they’ve just given themselves a way bigger gift than they’re giving their husband to be. Shhhh….we don’t need to tell them that, ha!

What made you decide to book a boudoir shoot?
I originally became interested in booking a boudoir shoot when I thought of the idea as a wedding gift for my future husband.

Did you have any fears going into your session?
YES! I didn’t really know what to expect and I over analyzed everything that I did before my session. Were my outfits the right choice? Should I have gotten a wax? I was even embarrassed to admit that I was on my period (a natural cycle that you can’t control). I made myself believe that I needed to look my very best and be “perfect” before this shoot, and in all honesty, I felt the complete opposite. Now that I have experienced it, I will walk into my next shoot with no fears or embarrassment, or this idea of needing to be “perfect”.

How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?
It was 10x more comfortable than I could have ever imagined it being. Something about Jolene’s presence makes you feel so at ease. There wasn’t even one moment that was uncomfortable or awkward and I had so much fun that the time had FLOWN by. It was amazing.

What was your favorite part of the entire experience?
My favorite part about the entire experience was how I felt right after the shoot. I was on cloud nine! I couldn’t believe what I had just done – no embarrassment, no body shame, no shyness – just pure excitement and empowerment. I was in the best mood that I had been in a very long time. I hadn’t even seen my photos yet and all I kept thinking about was when I could come back and experience that kind of feeling again.

How has the response been to your images?
ALL POSITIVE! I have shown all of the ladies in my family and they are all amazed. Some responses are even emotional. I would have originally thought that I would be afraid or embarrassed to show pictures of myself, but instead I show them off with damn pride! The woman’s body is beautiful and this experience really opened my eyes to that.

What is your advice for women interested in a boudoir experience?
DO IT!! You will NOT regret it. And do it NOW! You will gain so much respect and love for yourself… and you deserve it! This experience will forever be the BEST thing I have ever done for myself.

Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of your experience?
Absolutely! Since my photoshoot, every time I want to talk down on myself or point something out about my body that I don’t like, I think twice before doing so. This experience was hands down the BEST thing that I could have ever done for myself.
