Catching up on some personal work – Roy’s Cafe/Joshua Tree, CA

March 28, 2020

I’m not sure exactly how many days we’ve been quarantined but it’s been long enough that I’ve finally had a chance to catch up on some personal work from January! I’ve had to reschedule 20 shoots for the next month and my family and I are hunkered down at home until at least the end of April.

I keep trying to look at the bigger picture of what’s been going on in the world and I can’t help but think humanity is going through some sort of shift or reset.  I guess only time will tell.  For now, I am practicing gratitude and trying not to worry about things I can’t control.  I am hoping that our efforts to “flatten the curve” help save lives and that we will all come out of this better somehow.  Thank you to the doctors and nurses who are literally in the front lines of this whole mess.  So many of my clients are nurses and I can tell you, they are special people.

Enjoy some images from my favorite place and stay well.  xoxoxo

About jolene

As a photographer, the significance of intent cannot be overstated. I create photographs of women for themselves first and foremost. While some clients may choose to share their pictures with their significant others, my primary objective is to craft imagery for YOU first and foremost. I want you to look at your images and FEEL something. I want your images make you feel powerful, confident and self aware. I want your images to remind you of where you are right now. What you’ve overcome and where you are heading.

Boudoir

I photographed my first boudoir photoshoot in 2007, and since then I have been in absolute awe of what boudoir shoots do for women and their self confidence. As a woman myself I completely understand the struggle.  It’s getting better out there, but we are still constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough. […]
